Little ones grow up in a blink of an eye, which is why it’s important to capture those precious moments before they are gone. Sunday, June 23, I had my first baby photo session with Krew and his family. For this photoshoot, we met at Succop Nature Park in Butler and used the ponds there as the main backdrop for the shoot.
The central theme of Krew’s session was fishing, and we utilized an adorable little wooden boat as the main prop. Props can help make the photshoot unique to the individual and add to the composition of the image.
When deciding what type of props to bring to your photo session, think about your hobbies and passions. Krew’s family enjoys fishing as a fun and relaxing activity, so it was no question too base this photoshoot off of the activity.
My tips for parents interested in a photoshoot for their little ones is to first consider who you want in the pictures, and secondly, be patient with the process. We were lucky that Krew was able to go through a whole hour of being posed for photos before he started to get tired and fussy.
When working with young children, I work on their schedule. If they are only able to sit still for 25 minutes, then we can always reschedule and try for another time. My best advice for families is to bring some toys and food in order to grab the little one’s attention. Krew’s family was so helpful with catching his attention and keeping him happy when he would start to get upset.
Overall, this was a fantastic first baby photoshoot, and we were able to get some fantastic shots. Check out some of the pictures from Krew’s gallery, below.
